KinderKids Program

Would you like reinforcement outside of the home in giving your child a solid foundation of practicing good habits to develop a strong character and exposing your child to the feast of beautiful ideas found in music,
literature, poetry, nature study, geography, and art? If so, this class is the perfect place for your TK or Kindergarten student!
Children will have regular opportunities to take in good stories, memorize and recite poetry, play outdoor games, and take nature walks, among other activities. There will also be some time spent on basic literacy and math skills through music, movement, instruction, and center time. All lessons will be short and
varied.
Here is an example of a typical day in our Kinder Kids class:
9-9:15 Background music; students are invited to read and share books or play with
manipulatives; class welcome
9:15-9:20 Pledge of Allegiance
9:20-9:25 Poetry memorization and recitation practice
9:25-9:35 Music (folk or patriotic song, math or literacy songs) and movement/dance
9:35-9:45 Habits lesson or game
9:45-9:55 Basic math or LA instruction and practice or game (alternated)
9:55-10:15 Outdoor game or nature walk
10:15-10:30 Read Aloud time
10:30-10:50 Centers (ex: play-doh, craft, math/literacy game, blocks, painting, etc)
10:50-11 Student sharing (oral, listening, courtesy skills/habits)

*Note: Because this is a two-hour class, the class fee will be equivalent to taking two
regular Annex classes.
