KinderKids Program

Would you like reinforcement outside of the home in giving your child a
solid foundation of practicing good habits to develop a strong character
and exposing your child to the feast of beautiful ideas found in music,
literature, poetry, nature study, geography, and art? If so, this class is the
perfect place for your TK or Kindergarten student. Children will have
opportunities to take in good stories, memorize and recite poetry, play
outdoor games, and take nature walks, among other activities. There will
also be some time spent on basic literacy and math skills through music,
movement, and center time. All lessons will be short and varied.
Here is an example of a typical day in our Kinder Kids class:
9-9:15 Calm music plays in the background; students are invited to read and share books;
class welcome
9:15-9:20 Pledge of Allegiance
9:20-9:30 Music (folk or patriotic song, math or literacy songs) and movement
9:30-9:40 Poetry memorization or geography
9:40-10 Outdoor game or nature walk
10-10:20 Class break/snack
10:20-10:35 Literature read-alouds (we read Stuart Little in fall 2024 and a shorter light
book each time)
10:35-10:55 Centers (ex: play-doh, craft, math/literacy game, blocks, painting, etc)
10:55-11:00 Composer, artist, or geography study
11:00-11:15 Student sharing (oral, listening, courtesy skills/habits)

*Note: Because this is a two-hour class, the class fee will be equivalent to taking two
regular Annex classes.
