About the Course
Healthy Snacks, Smoothies & Refreshers is a hands-on nutrition and culinary skills course designed to teach students how to prepare quick, healthy snacks, smoothies, and refreshing beverages using simple, wholesome ingredients.
Through interactive lessons and food preparation activities, students will gain confidence in the kitchen while learning valuable life skills that promote independence and healthy living.
Learning Objectives
● Practice kitchen safety and proper food handling.
● Follow recipes and accurately measure ingredients.
● Learn basic nutrition concepts, including protein, carbohydrates, fats, fiber, and hydration.
● Prepare healthy snacks, smoothies, and beverages using whole-food ingredients.
● Understand how food choices impact energy, growth, and overall wellness.
● Develop independence, organization, and confidence in the kitchen.
● Apply math skills through measuring, portioning, and recipe preparation.
● Build lifelong healthy eating habits through hands-on learning.
Your Instructor
Strength and Purpose- Kathy Molina
My name is Kathy Molina, and I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach with over 8
years of experience helping individuals and families build healthier lifestyles through nutrition,
fitness, and sustainable habits. I am passionate about teaching that healthy living doesn't have
to be complicated and that small daily choices can have a lasting impact on overall health and
well-being.
In addition to my work as a trainer and nutrition coach, I have a lifelong love for cooking and
baking. I enjoy creating healthier versions of family favorites and teaching others how to prepare
nutritious meals using simple, wholesome ingredients. As a homeschool parent, I understand
the importance of practical life skills and hands-on learning experiences.
My goal is to help students develop a positive relationship with food while learning safe kitchen
practices, basic cooking and baking techniques, and healthy habits they can carry with them for
years to come. I believe that teaching children how to prepare healthy foods is an important life
skill that supports lifelong wellness.
