Basic Self-Defense & Weight Training

Join us to learn the basics of weightlifting, safety awareness, and self-defense!

In this class, students will practice basic weightlifting utilizing their body weight, free
weights, and exercise bands. We will focus on proper form and safety.
Students will bring a set of self-owned or purchased free weights to class on designated days.

During the self-awareness and self-defense portion of the class, students will learn the
importance of being aware of their surroundings using role-playing scenarios, which will
help them develop a plan of action in the event of a dangerous situation.

The last component of this class will be instruction on the proper form and technique of
basic self-defense. We will do this through three-step sparring, boxing, glove, and mitt
work.
I aim to give students the ability to defend themselves if needed.

*Note: The instructor, Coach David, has spent 22+ years working for Riverside County
Probation as a Senior Probation Correctional Officer in the Riverside and Temecula
Juvenile Hall facilities as well as the court-ordered placement facility, Van Horn Youth
Center, where he received and implemented extensive safety and self-defense training.
